Teacher Training at Om Land Yoga

Now accepting applications for the 2017-2018 Teacher Training and Advanced Studies Program.

Om Land Yoga’s 200-Hour Teacher Training and Advanced Studies Program is for serious practitioners of yoga and wellness desirous of becoming a teacher, as well as for students that may want to simply deepen their practice and live a more informed and healthier life. All teachers who graduate from our teacher training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200).

The style of yoga taught as part of Om Land Yoga’s program is both an alignment and functional based flow derived from a strong understanding of human anatomy and how each individual’s unique structure can and should have a unique yogic expression.

Our program emphasizes the actual skill of teaching. By the 2nd session students begin to cover topics on class planning and organization and participants start to guide simple sequences with each other in class. By the 6th session, and after several lectures on the principles of assisting, students begin assisting in general public classes under the careful guidance of the Om Land Teacher Training faculty. After having covered multiple methods of sequencing and with much practice on communication skills, students begin exploring their teaching skills in their own class as part of Om Land Yoga’s donation based Community Class Series. When students graduate from the training program they will have already had significant experience developing their teaching skills and begun to recognize their own unique teaching “voice”.

There is no single path to yoga. Our goal at Om Land Yoga is to give you the tools to discover your path and thereby help to guide others on their own.
